Kumo Pancakes



Kumo is a popular pancake restaurant located in Northbridge, Perth. There are a variety of flavours to choose from pancake wise such as pandan, strawberry, mango, chocolate, and a variety of drink flavours such as matcha, chai, lychee, and more. It is best to go to this place in the evening as it gets very packed at night! Luckily there was no line when I went. The scenery of the restaurant was minimalistic with a white and green colour scheme. There were fake green leaves as decorations on the wall with a big LED sign saying 'Kumo' lit up. They also accompany for single dining!

I decided to get the chocolate cloud pancakes with their strawberry kisses drink. I would rate the pancakes an honest 4 out of 10. It slightly disappointed me in comparison to the hype it got online. I thought the pancakes were TOO fluffy to the point where it was too light as if you weren't actually eating something. There was a light creamy taste but not as much as I would have liked. The strawberries and were nice and sweet, cut up into bite size pieces and the cream was richer, however, came in a very small proportion. The presentation was beautiful with cream, strawberries and powdered sugar and chocolate chips inside. I don't think I would recommend this place, perhaps recommend it to try, but not as a place I would go to multiple times. 

The drinks are presented beautifully, with the strawberry kisses drink being a vibrant red colour with white cheese foam on top. It came with a thick paper straw due to the thick consistency of the drink itself. I would rate the drink a solid 7 out of 10, much better than the pancakes. It very much had a strong strawberry flavour, but not an overly sweet one, it was a bit sour but had a good balance between both flavours. Once mixed with the foam, it honestly had no change in the taste. 

Although Kumo is known for its fluffy pancakes, I was a bit disappointed with what I received, The staff were lovely and the setting of the place was small yet clean and open, however, the pancakes could improve. The drinks are beautiful and there are many flavours to choose from. The overall experience was good, not the best, but it was still nice.

Upon entering, you instantly feel the cosy atmosphere the cafe has to offer, with its beautiful dry flower decorations and brown and white colour theme. Milky Lane

Milky Lane is a hamburger restaurant, popular for its street aesthetic. It has paintings of famous rappers on the wall including Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, and Kanye West. There is a noticeable colour theme of neon purple, blue, and black along with white graffiti designs. There are inside and outside seating areas, but no matter where you sit you can definitely hear the pop music that is very loud. This restaurant has a variety of burgers named after popular rappers, small sides, and a few desserts along with numerous drinks such as cocktails, mock-tails, milkshakes and more.  I decided to focus on the desserts at this place. I got the caramilk and biscoff cookie dough skillet. The presentation of this dessert was very appealing with the ice cream, biscoff cookie bits, bisoff cookie, and sweet sauce topping.
